The Daniel Worrall Sports Hall
Like Daniel, the Trust’s flagship project is ambitious - the development and equipping of a sports and leisure facility in rural south Northamptonshire. The Daniel Worrall Sports Hall will provide an invaluable facility, not just to the local community but also to people in the wider region.
The hall will provide facilities for all mainstream sports including football, cricket, tennis, badminton, hockey, basketball, netball, volleyball and table tennis and will provide an opportunity for able-bodied and those who have disabilities to try a new range of sports and leisure activities.
It will also be used by local schools and facilitate other community groups such as local sports clubs; disability sports groups; children’s activity groups; after-school clubs; and dance, drama, martial arts, yoga and fitness classes.

Bridging the gap.
As a rural community made up of a dozen or so villages and almost 20,000 people, there is no sporting facility within 10 miles and with a limited public transport system serving the area, it leaves a large proportion of the community with little or no access to sport and leisure.
Providing a well-equipped and family-friendly environment in which to enjoy sport and other leisure activities will provide a real boost to the continuing regeneration of the area and open doors to those who perhaps wouldn’t otherwise have the opportunity.
Making a difference.
Once complete, the Trust intends to engage local and regional public authorities and County sports bodies with a view to holding regular sports classes for a selection of sports and activities and to hiring the services of qualified and registered coaches.
Through the nominal fees charged for these classes and the hiring of the hall to individuals, groups and sports clubs, the hall will become self-funding and any profits will be invested directly back into maintaining and improving the facility.
The flexible design of the hall will also allow the Trust to raise further funds through public hire for functions such as private parties, wedding receptions and public meetings and these will be allocated to financing other sports initiatives identified in consultation with the community.
For some, the hall will offer an opportunity; for others it will provide a lifeline; for all it will provide a fitting and lasting tribute to Daniel.
