The Trust

A lasting legacy.

In celebration of his life, of all that he achieved and all that he gave to them, Daniel’s family and friends founded The Daniel Worrall Memorial Trust, a community charity committed to providing facilities and equipment which enables and encourages people of all ages and abilities to participate in sport.

The Trust’s managing committee is drawn from a variety of backgrounds, each with experience in a diverse range of areas including sport at grass-roots level. We’re all volunteers – independent, accountable, transparent, and determined – and every pound we raise goes directly towards our work.

Enable. Encourage. Empower.

Sport helps to bring people together at all levels, from local neighbourhoods, towns and villages to entire nations. The Trust’s aims are simple and true and we have set ourselves specific and measurable targets to achieve during the coming months and years.

  • To create a vibrant sporting culture and provide sustainable resources for the rural communities of south Northamptonshire.
  • To harness the power and passion of sport to create opportunities which improve the lives of local people.
  • To enable, encourage and empower more children and young people to play sport and lead healthy and active lives.
  • To involve all members of the local rural community in sporting initiatives, regardless of age and ability.
  • To encourage young people to use sports as a positive influence and a means to fulfil their potential.

To achieve our aims we are committed to building partnerships with other public and private bodies as well as individuals and groups. These include:

  • National and regional governing bodies of sport.
  • National and regional charitable organisations.
  • National, regional and local public authorities.
  • Regional and local schools and colleges.
  • National and regional disability sports organisations.
  • Regional and local sports leagues, clubs and coaches.
  • Regional and local disability sports groups.

This year An under 15′s Cricket Team has been set up, it was a project that Daniel had been involved in and was keen to see come to fruition.  With the dedication and valuable time of various members of Woodford Halse Cricket Club and other parents these young lads have enjoyed their first season.

The Trust helped to sponsor these youngsters by purchasing polo shirts with the trust logo on for all the team members, well done lads and we hope you enjoyed your first season.
